چکیده

Kinetic equilibration during the early stage of a relativistic heavy ion collision is studied using a radiative transport model. Thermalization is found to dominate over expansion with medium regulated cross sections. Pressure anisotropy shows an approximate αs scaling when radiative processes are included. It approaches an asymptotic time evolution on a time scale of 1 to 2 fm/c. Energy density is also found to approach an asymptotic time evolution that decreases slower than the ideal hydro evolution. These observations indicate that viscosity is important during the early longitudinal expansion phase of a relativistic heavy ion collision.

The role of the gluonic gg ↔ ggg interactions in early thermalization in ultrarelativistic heavy-ion collisions

We “quantify” the role of elastic as well as inelastic gg ↔ ggg pQCD processes in kinetic equilibration within a pQCD inspired parton cascade. The contributions of different processes to kinetic equilibration are manifested by the transport collision rates. We find that in a central Au+Au collision at RHIC energy pQCD Bremstrahlung processes are much more efficient for momentum isotropization c...

Chemistry of Pyrolysis and Kinetic Studies of Shea Nut (Vitellaria paradoxa) Shells Activated Carbon for Textile Waste Water Treatment

Phosphoric acid (H3PO4) and Zinc chloride (ZnCl2) catalyzed shea nut shells, subjected to a one way activation scheme was employed to study the adsorption kinetics and mode of diffusion of industrial dye uptake. Thermodynamics data obtained in this study indicate that the sorption of dye spontaneously increases with time and decreases after equilibration was...

Implicit Unified Gas Kinetic Scheme for Radiative Transfer with Strong Isotropic Scattering

In the previous works [J. Comput. Phys. 285 (2015), 265-279 and J. Comput. Phys. 302 (2015), 222-238 ], an explicit asymptotic preserving unified gas kinetic scheme (UGKS) has been constructed for the radiative transfer equations with strong absorption/emission coefficients. In the previous UGKS, for the update of the radiation intensity in all regimes, the time step is constrained by the CFL c...

A Kinetic Investigation of a Carrier-Mediated Transport through a Bulk Liquid Membrane

The kinetics of the potassium thiocyanate transport mediated by dicyclohexyl-18-crown-6 (L) through a bulk liquid membrane is studied experimentally and theoretically. The proposed model is based on the assumption of a pure diffusion of the complex salt [K·L]+SCN¯ through the liquid membrane stagnant films at the interfaces. It illustrates the ...

The covariant kinetic approach for the radiative plasma, a mixture of a relativistic moving gas plus radiation quanta (photons, neutrinos, or gravitons) is generalized to D spatial dimensions. The operational and physical meaning of Eckart's temperature is reexamined and the D-dimensional expressions for the transport coefficients (heat conduction , bulk and shear viscosity) are explicitly eval...
